North Carolina Economic Development Association Elects Julie Pruett

Marlboro Development Team, Inc. (MDT) is pleased to announce the election of Julie Pruett, CEcD, Development Manager, to the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA). As the state’s premier economic development coalition, NCEDA serves as the voice for North Carolina’s economic development community while promoting the state as an ideal destination for business growth. Pruett’s appointment to this volunteer board commenced on July 1, 2023, and will span a three-year term.

“Julie’s extensive experience, coupled with her leadership and enthusiasm will make a significant impact on the NCEDA Board of Directors,” said Kyle Edney, executive vice president of Marlboro Development Team. “Julie’s appointment is a reflection of her hard work and dedication throughout her career. We congratulate her on this well-deserved appointment and look forward to her success in serving NCEDA and furthering economic development initiatives in North Carolina.”

“I am honored to serve on the NCEDA Board of Directors and give back to an organization that has given so much to me throughout my 26-year career in economic and industrial development,” Pruett said. “I appreciate the support from my MDT family and my colleagues across the state, particularly the NCEDA Past Presidents, whose endorsement has granted me this prestigious appointment.”

Pruett joined MDT with over 24 years of experience in economic development in the Charlotte region of North Carolina. She works to expand Marlboro Development Team’s presence in North Carolina within the industrial real estate development sector. She obtained the internationally recognized designation of Certified Economic Developer in 2009. She holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lenoir-Rhyne University. Additionally, Pruett is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute.
