As cyber threats continue to evolve, the 2026 Travelers Risk Index, released today/this week, finds cyber remains the top business concern. Nearly half of construction leaders surveyed (48%) believe a cyberattack against their organization is inevitable, while that same share (48%) say their company isn’t big or complex enough to be the victim of a major cyber-attack.
While 77% of construction leaders agree that having the proper cybersecurity controls in place is critical to the well-being of their company, the construction industry reports lower preparedness than other industries surveyed:
- 45% conduct a cyber risk assessment for vendors with access to their company’s data or systems, compared with 59% of businesses overall
- 40% have a written disaster recovery plan, compared with 61% of businesses overall.
- 31% simulate cyber-attacks to identify areas of system vulnerability, compared with 47% of businesses overall.
