The Ellinikon, Europe’s largest urban regeneration project, is opening a new chapter for Athens with the phased launch of The Ellinikon Sports Park — a landmark destination for sport, recreation and wellbeing designed for people of all ages and abilities.

The Ellinikon Sports Park is the first major public project to be delivered as part of The Ellinikon regeneration, with its first phase opening to visitors on July 20, 2026. Ahead of its public opening, The Ellinikon Sports Park successfully hosted the Super Special Stage of the 2026 EKO Acropolis Rally, welcoming 57 crews from 24 countries and more than 10,000 spectators—demonstrating the venue’s ability to accommodate international sporting events from day one.

Odysseas Athanassiou, CEO of LAMDA Development said, “The opening of the first phase of The Ellinikon Sports Park marks an important and highly symbolic milestone for The Ellinikon. For the first time, the public will be able to experience firsthand the transformation taking place and enjoy one of the project’s first completed destinations. It represents a major step in a journey that began years ago, driven by a bold vision, perseverance and our unwavering belief in what The Ellinikon can become.”

From July 20 through September, The Ellinikon Sports Park will operate daily from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Beginning in September, the park will be open 8:00 a.m. to midnight, 362 days a year. Admission is free via the Alimos entrance on Aeroporias Street.
