Cooper Carry, a national architecture and design firm, announced plans to relocate its Colorado office from Boulder to downtown Denver, establishing a new regional hub and reinforcing the firm’s long-term commitment to the Denver market and broader Western region. The firm has signed a lease for approximately 5,700 square feet at 1900 Lawrence and expects to move into the new office later this year.
The new office will be designed to accommodate up to 45 employees as the firm expands its presence throughout Colorado and neighboring states. Cooper Carry’s Colorado office currently employs 25 professionals and has continued to grow since the firm’s acquisition of Boulder-based architecture firm 505Design in 2023. The Denver office joins Cooper Carry’s offices in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Charlotte, North Carolina.
“Downtown Denver is in the midst of a meaningful resurgence,” said Kyle Reis, CEO of Cooper Carry. “We see tremendous momentum returning to the urban core, from investment and development activity to the renewed energy across its business and cultural institutions. Moving our office to downtown Denver allows us to be part of that next chapter while positioning ourselves closer to the clients and communities we serve across the region.”
The move reflects several strategic priorities for the firm, including improved accessibility for employees and clients, enhanced recruitment opportunities and greater participation in Denver’s design and development community. Located within walking distance of Union Station and served by multiple rail and bus lines, 1900 Lawrence offers convenient regional connectivity and direct access to Denver International Airport.
“We were intentional about choosing a space that supports how our team works today and where we’re headed as a firm,” said Krista Dumkrieger, Principal at Cooper Carry. “It gives us the flexibility to expand, collaborate more effectively and better serve clients across Denver and the broader Mountain West. We are grateful for our time in Boulder and look forward to this next chapter in Denver.”
Cooper Carry will continue to pursue opportunities across multifamily, hospitality, experiential graphic design, higher education, K-12 and mixed-use development sectors in the region. Current projects in Colorado include renovations at the historic Hotel Boulderado, work with Denver Public Schools, environmental graphic design for Novel RiNo, interior design services for Link Apartments Fitz, among others. The firm also recently completed The Villas at Canyon Suites at The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona; the dual-brand AC Hotel by Marriott Symphony Park and Element by Westin Symphony Park in Las Vegas; The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe in California; and the dual-brand AC Hotel by Marriott and Element by Westin at Norterra in North Phoenix, Arizona.
