Construction of a water park resort in Colorado Springs, Colo., started recently, and operator Great Wolf Resorts said it now expects the property to open in November. Great Wolf has allocated $90 million to complete the purchase and development of the former Renaissance Hotel, which was abandoned in October 2009.
