Viking’s Weather Protection Prevents Problems

For product installations requiring extra protection from moisture, vehicle exhaust, pool chemicals or temperature extremes, Viking’s Enhanced Weather Protection (EWP) gives you the durability you need for years of service.
“Viking products with Enhanced Weather Protection simply outlast the elements, they just keep on working, reducing disruption and preventing repair calls from customers. Choosing EWP adds so much value to your hardware investment.” – James Catt, Viking Electronics
Viking products with Enhanced Weather Protection have a circuit board that is encased in a strong polymer material. The potting material won’t crack in cold weather, it provides protection against moisture and condensation, and it’s an excellent electrical insulator. In addition to the potted circuit board, EWP products also feature internally sealed push buttons, DIP switches, and volume control pots. Additional gaskets for the speaker, mic and faceplate make EWP products compliant to an IP66 rating.
Customers trust Viking’s EWP products for tough applications like ocean beach properties, swimming pools areas or in parking garages. EWP is also perfect for door and gate entry phones that are outside exposed to the harsh elements.
We’ve put EWP to the test with the outdoor phones used at our manufacturing facility in Hudson, Wisconsin. If you’d like to see the video, search for “Viking EWP” on YouTube.
