Released in September 2017, Vectorworks, Inc.’s line of Vectorworks 2018 software is for 3D modeling and drafting. The 2018 release includes Vectorworks Architect software, the industry’s only BIM modeling, drafting and documentation software built with the design process in mind.
As the architect’s BIM tool, the software enables designers to tackle complex ideas in 2D and 3D, refine construction details, explore the project’s energy efficiency and streamline costs. With the new multiple drawing views feature, designers can see views of their project simultaneously, and begin work in one view pane and finish it in another.
Direct section and elevation editing, easier title block customization, streamlined worksheets, site model contour editing and Wall tool enhancements that allow designers to correctly model wall constructions so walls appear accurately in plan, section and elevation drawings are just a few other notable features in Architect 2018. The direct site model contour editing and enhanced seating sections are other good examples of our usability improvements.
