TRANSWESTERN’S CONSTRUCTION MGMT TEAM

Transwestern Mid-Atlantic 021416
Transwestern announced it has recruited the Construction Management Services team of Richard Whitney, Todd Spear and David White. Based in Washington, D.C., they will oversee the construction management process from concept to completion, including tenant build-outs, capital improvements and asset repositioning.
“We are excited to welcome Richard, Todd and David to the Transwestern family,” said Keith Foery, executive managing director and market leader of Transwestern’s Mid-Atlantic region. “The depth of their experience in the industry, along with their market knowledge and existing client relationships, make them a highly valuable addition for our clients.”
Whitney, who will serve as managing director at Transwestern, began his career in the construction industry in 2000 as an architect. Since then, he’s served in a variety of roles in the field, including contractor, project manager and project executive. Some of his previous projects include the interior fit-out of the Transportation Security Administration’s 500,000-square-foot national headquarters in Arlington, Virginia; the development of Il Palazzo Condominiums in Washington, D.C.; and the complete repositioning of 1776 Eye St. in Washington, D.C.
“I’ve worked in several key roles in the construction industry, providing me with a unique, in-depth understanding of the construction management process,” said Whitney. “I’m looking forward to using that expertise at Transwestern to creatively solve our clients’ real estate needs.”
Spear and White join Transwestern as senior project manager and project manager, respectively. The team comes from Cushman & Wakefield’s Project and Development Services team.
The Construction Management Services team will complement the large-scale development projects led by Transwestern subsidiary DRI Development and the small-scale tenant build-outs supervised by Transwestern Management Services – providing clients with the complete spectrum of development, construction management and renovations services.
