Bloomingdale’s of Palo Alto, California was the award winning installation. Thermocromex™, a high-performance, limestone plaster cladding, can be applied to virtually any substrate including CMU, frame/sheathing, tilt wall, poured-in-place concrete and lightweight blocks/cement.

“The design architect for the new Bloomingdale’s building at Standford Shopping Center wanted a very smooth, high quality white plaster finish with marble dust for the exterior of the build” stated Luke Sheridan, Senior Associate, Gensler San Francisco. “Several products were considered by Gensler and the Ownership, and Thermocromex was determined to be the best option for durability, constructability, and high-grade finish. The result was beautiful.”
The 120,000-square-foot Bloomingdale’s is a three-story facility that replaces the old 1996 structure. It showcases some of the latest technologies used by the builder including Thermocromex’s Limestone Plaster Cladding System. A very smooth Tandour pattern was installed on a frame/sheathing wall assembly using a custom white color on over 30,000 sq ft of exterior wall space for this upscale mall project.
