Syska Hennessy Group, Inc. (Syska) a global consulting, engineering and commissioning firm, is announcing Chicago-based Associate Partner William Schaumann, III, PE, was appointed to the Board of Directors for the 7×24 Exchange, Lake Michigan Chapter earlier this year. Mr. Schaumann brings many years of mission critical experience and insights to the 7×24 chapter and is the first Syska employee to serve on this chapter’s board.
7×24 Exchange is an international organization dedicated to improving end-to-end reliability by promoting dialogue among those who design, build, operate and maintain mission-critical enterprise infrastructures.  For Mr. Schaumann, this appointment comes after years of active involvement with the organization. Apart from serving as the 2015 Program Director for the chapter, his involvement for the year includes moderating a recent regional panel, participating in several other local events and speaking at two of their annual national conferences. He presented on data center design in various climates at the most recent 7×24 Exchange national event and highlighted the successful project work completed at the General Motors Data Center at an earlier conference.
Mr. Schaumann also played a key role in the expansion of mission critical work for the growing Chicago office. The regional office, which opened in 2007 and is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, serves as Syska’s hub of operations for the entire Midwest region. The office has a staff of more than 30 professionals, led by Senior Principal Joseph O’Sullivan.
“It’s been a privilege to be a part of the Lake Michigan 7×24 Exchange board, working alongside some of the most highly-accomplished professionals around,” said Mr. Schaumann.  “The board’s goal is to provide educational opportunities to our peers that focus on the challenges confronting engineering firms as well as draw attention to the latest developments in infrastructure reliability. I have long been impressed with the organization’s commitment to staying ahead of the issues facing this rapidly changing profession and look forward to helping create new initiatives aimed at enhancing our industry.”
Mr. Schaumann adds, “Syska has always supported the 7×24 Exchange organization and I’m delighted to continue that tradition.”
“Bill Schaumann is a true industry leader and we’re fortunate to have him as part of our team,” added Mr. O’Sullivan. “The rapid growth of our Chicago location is a credit to the talented and well-rounded group of professionals like Bill that we have in this office. Our Midwest market data center work has tripled over the last five years and we remain committed to expanding our core competencies and supporting our clients even more going forward.”
