Reflecting the firm’s strong presence across a range of market sectors, the acclaimed architecture and interior design firm Spacesmith has announced two new appointments: architect and sustainable design specialist Wendy Wisbrun, AIA, LEED AP, has joined their team in its growing Hudson, N.Y. office, and the firm’s architect Amy Jarvis, AIA, has been promoted to Associate. As a LEED-accredited, registered architect, Wisbrun brings Spacesmith valuable experience designing a wide range of institutional, commercial, and residential projects in cities such as Austin, Toronto, and New York.
Over the course of her career, she has cultivated a deep knowledge base of building science and sustainable, rational construction techniques which will help Wisbrun build on her new role at Spacesmith.
As an Associate based in the firm’s growing office in Hudson, N.Y., she will use her talents to design a range of project types and develop new business in New York State and beyond. Also elevated to Associate is architect and project manager Amy Jarvis, AIA, who joined Spacesmith in 2014 and has helped lead various retail, restaurant, residential, institutional, and workplace building projects.
Currently, Jarvis is on the team designing new a workspace for the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan. A registered disaster-relief building evaluator, Jarvis also brings to her work extensive knowledge of resiliency and related construction techniques. Recently named one of Interior Design Magazine’s Top 100 Rising Giants, Spacesmith has earned a reputation for design excellence, expertise in project delivery, and a unique focus on business and client strategic goals.
These new associates represent the firm’s dedication to quality design work and underscores Spacesmith’s commitment to its core values of highly crafted, client-driven solutions.

In their new positions, both Wisbrun and Jarvis will play key roles as the firm continues to expand its presence across a variety of sectors. At the same time, says Smith, they will lead and manage project teams and act as mentors for emerging professionals. Wisbrun also plays a key role in establishing new clients in the Upstate New York markets around the Hudson River Valley and Albany. “These two accomplished professionals also reflect Spacesmith’s broader mission, to create meaningful buildings and interiors that positively impact the community and advance our clients’ organizational objectives,” says Smith.
About the Designers
Wendy Wisbrun, AIA, LEED AP- New Hire, Associate Originally from Texas, Wendy Wisbrun, AIA, LEED AP, received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. After relocating to New York City, she contributed to a wide range of institutional, commercial, and residential projects. As an architect, she brings her understanding of advanced building technologies and ultra-low energy construction principals to all her projects.
Prior to joining Spacesmith’s team, Wisbrun was the Residential Studio Lead and an Associate at superkül architecture based out of Toronto where her primary focus was creating resilient, modern houses. She has moved to Hudson, N.Y. with hopes of positively impacting her new community through her interests in low energy architecture, food justice and environmental stewardship.
Amy Jarvis, AIA – Promoted to Associate As a project manager at Spacesmith since 2014, Amy Jarvis, AIA, worked on several design projects in the retail, restaurant, residential, institutional, and commercial workplace sectors. Prior to joining the firm, Jarvis collaborated with many artists on installations for institutions such as The Guggenheim. Currently, Jarvis is designing a workplace project for the American Museum of Natural History, two public libraries as part of the NYC DDC’s Design Excellence program, and a renovation of Caroline Herrera’s flagship store in NYC. Jarvis is a registered disaster relief building evaluator and pursuing LEED certification. Originally from Texas, Jarvis received a master’s in architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington.
