AECOM, the world's premier infrastructure firm, announced the appointment of Sol Hecht to the position of vice president, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) lead, Buildings + Places. In this role Hecht will drive key initiatives, provide strategic oversight, and lead AECOM's Buildings + Places MEP practice in the Northeast region.

With more than thirty years of creating value for his clients through the development of sustainable, flexible, and efficient facilities, Hecht is a leader in the design and construction industry. Over the course of his career, he has driven the technical delivery of large complex projects in the corporate commercial, healthcare, hospitality, residential, and education markets across the globe. His key work includes the high-profile rehabilitation of the historic Waldorf Astoria hotel in Manhattan and a high-rise high profile residential building at the 50 United Nations Plaza in New York; the LEED Platinum 500,000-square-foot Godrej One corporate headquarters in Mumbai; 145 West, Greenpoint Brooklyn, a 840,000-square-foot, 40-story tower with two 6-story rental buildings that include over 650 units of luxury and market-rate residential; the 926-foot, 82 story Four Seasons Hotel in Downton Manhattan; the 61 story Four Seasons Hotel and private residence tower, One Dalton in Boston; the LEED Gold Lehigh University's STEPS Building, a 70,000-square-foot life science teaching facility in Pennsylvania; Columbia University's LEED Gold Forum Conference Facility in New York; and a research and development facility for Johnson & Johnson. Hecht holds a Bachelor of Science from SUNY Empire State College in Saratoga Springs, New York, and is a licensed engineer in several states and LEED AP BD + C certified.
