Publix goes big with new prototype store

Publix, which has recently been experimenting with smaller stores under 30,000 square feet, has decided to go big for a new, two-story 48,000-square-foot store in Tampa, Florida. The prototype location features the grocer's Aprons Cooking School kiosk, a free-standing deli department with hot and cold prepared foods, self-checkout stations and a large dining area on the second floor.
