Principle Construction Corp., a full-service design build general contractor, has announced the opening of Lola’s Truck Wash, a four-bay, 12,840 square foot truck cleaning facility at 1331 N. Independence Blvd. in Romeoville, Illinois.
Principle built the facility from the ground up and worked with the truck wash equipment provider to optimize the operational needs of the wash equipment. This helped to reduce the amount of fresh water required to support the washing operation, creating environmental and economic efficiency.
The project was completed last month and is now open to truckers. The Principle team built a series of trench drains and wastewater sediment separation tanks to facilitate water recycling needs of the truck wash. Wastewater from the wash cycles passes through a series of large separator tanks designed to allow dirt and sediment to settle prior to its recovery in a final holding tank where it is treated and then sent back to the wash equipment for its re-use.
A significant amount of reclaimed water piping and treatment tanks ensure this grey water cannot re-enter the potable water system. Waterproof electrical components and interior materials/finishes selected for wet environments were incorporated into the construction. The compact site accommodates a facility with four (4) wash bays. Traffic patterns and queuing lanes were optimized in order to avoid conflicts with inbound/outbound trucks onsite as well as at the street access point to the facility.
