Home Vendor News Pioneer Millworks 31st Year as American Mfc in 2022

For 30+ years Pioneer Millworks has been inspired to develop creative reclaimed and sustainable wood flooring, paneling, and siding. 2021 saw the growth of several sustainable wood product lines for the company:
Shou Sugi Ban –
Traditionally Inspired, American Made™, a dramatic take on the century’s old tradition of Yakisugi, charred wood, or burned siding. Pioneer Millworks burnt wood Shou Sugi Ban siding and paneling can be as unique as the space you are designing or the home you are building. Charred wood, preserving the deep grains and weathered texture, brushed to accentuate the hidden beauty. Over 50 options from classic black to modern white; from punchy reds to neutral grays; Larch, FSC-Certified® Douglas fir, and FSC-Certified® Accoya—all made in the U.S.A in New York & Oregon.
Siding & Shiplap
Pioneer Millworks Siding & Shiplap is sustainably harvested domestically from small well-managed forests. Designed for modern interior and exterior uses the new Siding and Shiplap product line ranges through a versatile color and finish palate from Scandinavian whites, trendy blacks, cool and warm greys, and browns to distinctive reds and blues. The 45 product Siding & Shiplap line represent Pioneer Millworks continued commitment to bringing the highest quality sustainable wood products possible to the home improvement, design, and building industry.
Pioneer Millworks Raked® paneling adds dimensional texture to interior walls, wraps, ceilings, and fixtures. This applied texture is milled into the surface of the wood and repeats in 1/4″ grooves. All our Raked™ paneling options are Engineered with an FSC-Certified Baltic Birch 12mm (9 ply), CARB2 and TOSCA compliant using glue that is Formaldehyde-free, low-VOC.
“Our expansion of sustainable wood products for exteriors has been great for expanding our reach into high-end homes and helping builders bring trend-setting and high-quality wood to their clients,” says Alan Lamparella, General Manager for Pioneer Millworks. “We’re looking forward to continuing this residential builder partnership in 2022 & 23 with the roll out of additional sustainable wood flooring options.”
2022/23 will focus on expanding the pallet of species in Pioneer Millworks sustainable wood flooring line. The company will also continue its investment in American manufacturing by bringing both of its mills in New York and Oregon to 100% employee-ownership through its ESOP program.
“Our investment in making planet-focused, quality wood products in the United States are here to stay,” says Lamparella. “Our goal is to continue to walk the talk of ethical and sustainable building materials for designer, builders, and homeowners so that they have healthy products that will benefit the next generation.”
Pioneer Millworks products are crafted in the U.S.A. from mills in New York and Oregon, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, UL Greenguard Gold certified, LEED point eligible, and follow up their commitment to material transparency with Health Product Declarations (HPDs). Accoya® is also Cradle to Cradle certified.
