The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat’s Height Committee has determined that New York City’s 1 World Trade Center tower is the tallest structure in America. The committee decided that the tower’s 408-foot spire should be part of the building’s height, and the ruling makes 1 WTC 1,776 feet tall, taller than the Willis Tower, which at 1,451 feet high is the current tallest.
