Roofing professionals are invited to join industry trade associations representing contractors, consultants and manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada in taking part in the new Market Index Survey for Reroofing.
The purpose of the survey is to take the pulse of the reroofing industry on a quarterly basis and become a regular barometer of the industry’s business conditions. Industry professionals have an opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences regarding reroofing as a sector of their businesses.
The survey is an industry-wide effort to collect information about the reroofing market spearheaded by a coalition of trade associations, including the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association, Canadian Roofing Contractors Association, Chemical Fabrics & Film Association Inc., EPDM Roofing Association, International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants, National Roofing Contractors Association, National Women in Roofing, Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association, Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association and Single Ply Roofing Industry.
Ellen Thorp, Executive Director of National Women in Roofing and a member of the coalition detailed one of the reasons for the new initiative. “In conversations with roofing professionals and association staff over the past few months, we realized that as we compared notes on the state of the industry, we were getting different answers. When one person would report that consultants she had spoken with had reported that business was booming, someone else would report that a contractor she had spoken with would report that a contractor’s backlog had all but disappeared. While this type of anecdotal evidence is always valuable, we realized we needed a more quantitative measurement of the roofing industry.”
The quarterly Market Index Survey for Reroofing is available at https://bit.ly/roofindexsurvey. Survey responses based on 4^th quarter business activity may be submitted through January 22. The survey will again be available in early April for respondents to report the first quarter business activity and the survey will repeat quarterly. Results and analysis from the survey will only be available to respondents, although some general results will be reported publicly.
