Nichiha USA, a leading manufacturer of residential fiber cement siding and Architectural Wall Panels, will introduce RoughSawn panels this summer. Part of the company’s Wood Series line, the cladding’s rough-around-the-edges texture and earthy, weathered colors emulate the look and feel of aged barn wood. The effect is ideal for achieving a vintage or rustic look for commercial and residential projects while maintaining modern performance and durability.
“Reclaimed wood is one of the industry’s hottest design trends, and our new RoughSawn line delivers that rugged look without the associated hassles or cost,” says Michael Cobb, vice president of sales and marketing. “Along with its handsome appearance, the panels offer all of the high-performance benefits of our Architectural Wall Panels, including a 50-year limited warranty and built-in rainscreen.”
RoughSawn comes in three rustic colors—Tobacco, Smoke, and Espresso. The 5/8-inch-thick panels measure 18 inches by 10 feet, with exposed coverage of 15 square feet per panel.
The weathered look of RoughSawn stands in sharp contrast to Nichiha’s existing Wood Series product offering, VintageWood, which has a more refined appearance suitable for modern and retro exteriors alike. Both products utilize Nichiha’s Ultimate Clip, an easy-to-install system that also creates a 10mm drained and back-ventilated rainscreen to allow moisture to drain away and the envelope to dry.
