Officials from Major League Soccer and Washington, D.C., are trying to finalize a tax deal to help fund the $300 million needed for land acquisition and construction of a 20,000-seat soccer stadium in the District. Incentives, including property-tax and sales-tax abatements are under negotiation. The city would foot some of the bill, while the D.C. United soccer team would fund the rest.
