It has been a decades-long dream for Jerome and Tammy Cirlincione to open up their own version of their favorite bagel shop. That dream finally found its home at The Shops at Old York Village in Chesterfield.

Using the same 26-year-old recipe from their favorite Staten Island bagel shop by the same name, the Cirlinciones recently celebrated the grand opening of Mikey Bagels in a 3,000 sq. ft. space leased from Renaissance Properties.

“We were the most recent of three new tenants to sign a lease at the complex and the first tenant to open,” said Mr. Cirlincione. “The Renaissance Properties team made the entire process seamless from start to finish.”

Located just 30 minutes from their family home in Monroe Township, the Cirlinciones love how Chesterfield is such a family community.

Mikey Bagels specializes in NY-style, hand rolled bagels that are kettle cooked daily. “We hand roll each and every bagel, kettle cook it and then finish it off in a revolving oven,” said Mr. Cirlincione. “We offer a full breakfast and lunch menu, as well as Boar’s Head cold cuts.”

On opening day, Mikey Bagels sent bagel gifts around town to the police and fire departments, township officials, building department and local schools in Chesterfield. “It was our way of letting our friends and neighbors know that we are here, and we are extremely proud to be part of their tight-knit community,” said Mr. Cirlincione.

Any unpurchased bagels are also donated on a daily basis to area churches to help those in need. “We believe in giving back to the community that supports us,” Mr. Cirlincione added.
