Mikey Bagels celebrates grand opening at The Shops at Old York Village

It has been a decades-long dream for Jerome and Tammy Cirlincione to open up their own version of their favorite bagel shop. That dream finally found its home at The Shops at Old York Village in Chesterfield.

Using the same 26-year-old recipe from their favorite Staten Island bagel shop by the same name, the Cirlinciones recently celebrated the grand opening of Mikey Bagels in a 3,000 sq. ft. space leased from Renaissance Properties.

"We were the most recent of three new tenants to sign a lease at the complex and the first tenant to open," said Mr. Cirlincione. "The Renaissance Properties team made the entire process seamless from start to finish."

Located just 30 minutes from their family home in Monroe Township, the Cirlinciones love how Chesterfield is such a family community.

"I love the design of the complex, the location and how everything is brand new," said Mr. Cirlincione. "I highly recommend Renaissance Properties because of how good and honest they are. The entire office and team went out of their way to ensure that we opened on time."

The Shops at Old York Village offers a traditional downtown feel highlighting both commercial space and new retail space, but with both the efficiencies and quality of new construction practices.

"We are so happy to welcome Mikey Bagels to The Shops at Old York Village," said Robert Adinolfi, Chief Operating Officer at Renaissance Properties. "This brand-new downtown offers appealing retail storefronts and apartments uniquely designed to complement the charming, neo-traditional architecture employed throughout the community."

"Covered walkways, ample parking and thoughtful aesthetic touches add to the appeal and make The Shops at Old York Village a unique retail offering in Chesterfield and one of the main reasons why we selected this location," said Mr. Cirlincione.

Mikey Bagels specializes in NY-style, hand rolled bagels that are kettle cooked daily. "We hand roll each and every bagel, kettle cook it and then finish it off in a revolving oven," said Mr. Cirlincione. "We offer a full breakfast and lunch menu, as well as Boar's Head cold cuts."

On opening day, Mikey Bagels sent bagel gifts around town to the police and fire departments, township officials, building department and local schools in Chesterfield. "It was our way of letting our friends and neighbors know that we are here, and we are extremely proud to be part of their tight-knit community," said Mr. Cirlincione.

Any unpurchased bagels are also donated on a daily basis to area churches to help those in need. "We believe in giving back to the community that supports us," Mr. Cirlincione added.
