Marriott International plans to open 1,300 additional hotels worldwide by the end of 2017, adding between 200,000 and 235,000 rooms to its global supply. It plans to double its property count in Asia and is aiming for as many as 33,000 rooms open in the Middle East and Africa region over the next three years.
