KOVA, a leader in whole project building material solutions, welcomes Matthew White to the growing team as the brand’s new design research manager. A seasoned design professional, White brings a wealth of architecture, engineering, product and construction industry knowledge and more than 10 years of experience to KOVA’s roster. In his new role, White will leverage the industry’s latest technology and systems-based thinking to reshape how building materials are designed, manufactured, and assembled in support of the team’s desire to build a future material supply that is circular in nature and relies on products that are intentionally designed for assembly and disassembly, ease of reuse and recycling.

Having received his Masters of Architecture at the Washington University in St. Louis and then later his Masters of Science in Design, Robotics, and Autonomous Systems at the University of Pennsylvania, White has always had a knack for reimagining traditional outlooks on design. He embraces technology and unique project delivery methods to bring innovative solutions to the industry. White joins KOVA from his previous role as a Senior Project Manager at UAP, a globally recognized public art and architectural design solutions company, where he managed the team’s design development and detailing of complex elements for fabrication and installation.

White’s past roles also include serving as a design engineer at Island Exterior Fabricators, an all-inclusive facade subcontractor; a senior designer at Dean/Wolf Architects, a design firm specializing in both residential and commercial spaces; a project lead at SITU Studio; an architecture that designs for social impact; and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Design.

“I’m honored to join such an innovative team that is rethinking how building elements are designed, constructed, and reused,” says White. “In this role, I’m most looking forward to embracing new challenges and leveraging my expertise in technology’s role in design and construction to discover and implement new efficiencies in both the design process and material usage.”
