Due Diligence & Property Development is proud to announce its founder, Kathryn Smith, was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida (West Orange county), a non-profit organization that helps inspire hope and opportunity in at-risk children in the local community. The board serves three primary roles: establish identity and strategic direction, ensure resources and provide oversight.

“Im incredibly honored to serve in such a significant organization with colleagues and friends,” said Smith. “Giving back to the community is at the core of my professional and personal philosophy. Being a part of the Board of Directors allows me to help shape integral community efforts that support children and families in Central Florida.”

In addition to the primary roles of the Board of Directors, individual board members promote the Club, safeguard ethics, values, and uphold legal obligations. These responsibilities encompass the full breadth of the Clubs operations while providing opportunities for each board member to distinctly enhance certain aspects of the Clubs recreational programs for children and families.

Smith helps businesses in Florida and throughout the Southeast to overcome development hurdles impacting their ability to start projects on time, meet budgetary constraints, and achieve business objectives. Smiths experience as a real estate entitlements professional provides her with a highly specialized skillset catered toward streamlining, coordinating, and obtaining project entitlements and plan approvals for projects of all scales. She has worked with landowners, developers, law firms, national home builders, and project consultant teams on numerous projects across the Southeast. Smith is a University of Central Florida graduate.

About the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida

The Boys and Girls Club of Central Floridas mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The organization comprises 36 Clubs in 6 counties, serving the children who need it most. The Clubs are located in neighborhoods that, on average, rank at the 12th percentile for household income and 71st for incarceration rates. Club families pay either nothing or a nominal fee for their children to attend. By providing Club members with academic support, extracurricular opportunities, and positive adult role models, the organization aims to break the cycle of poverty for future generations.
