Jones Sports, a provider of innovative sports architectural elements, façades, and multimedia solutions, announces the successful completion of its transformative project at the iconic Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The company was contracted to create new multi-media decorative facade elements, bringing a fresh and dynamic look to this renowned sports and entertainment venue.
The project at the Wells Fargo Center, home of the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers, included installing a series of horizontal aluminum strut modules, pixel-controlled LED lighting, and LED displays on each of the arena’s four corners. Jones Sports’ team collaborated closely with SCI Architects during the preconstruction phase to refine materials selection and construction methodology, ensuring the project met the highest standards of quality and innovation.
“We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work on such an exciting and impactful project at the Wells Fargo Center,” said Rich Ongirski, Senior VP for Jones Sports. “Our team’s dedication to excellence and innovation shines through in every aspect of this project, from the design engineering of the strut modules to the implementation of stateof-the-art LED technology.”
Jones Sports’ design engineering team created the strut modules in large sections, averaging 8′ x 22′, which were fabricated in their Green Bay facility. The company also engineered and built the steel structure supporting the LED displays, complete with a catwalk system to ensure ease of maintenance and operation.
“Our technology engineering staff recommended and commissioned the programmable pixel-controlled Clear LED X-bar, which has enhanced the visual experience at the Wells Fargo Center,” added Ongirski. “Together with our esteemed partners at Comcast Spectacor, SCI, and Walter P. Moore, we were able to deliver this project efficiently and cost-effectively, coming in under projected costs while exceeding expectations in terms of design and functionality.”
The newly revamped facade at the Wells Fargo Center is a testament to Jones Sports’ commitment to pushing the boundaries of multimedia technology in the sports and entertainment industry. The dynamic integration of LED displays and lighting has elevated the center’s visual appeal and created an immersive experience for fans and visitors alike.
