The college football season officially kicked off this past weekend with Jones Sports scoring big with two naming rights projects at Vanderbilt University and Fresno State University and the opening of brand-new state-of-the-art Snapdragon stadium.
The college stadiums donned new naming rights brand elements with signage and architectural creations from Jones Sports. They completed work at stadiums on both ends of the spectrum from historic Vanderbilt and Fresno Stadiums to the state-of-the-art Snapdragon Stadium.
“We continue to leverage our expertise in premium sports venues to enhance the community experience. Our team was able to turn these projects around in a few short weeks, meeting aggressive timelines and delivering to brand expectations,” said Todd Patrickus, Executive Vice President of Jones Sign.
Vanderbilt University – First Bank Stadium Vanderbilt University signed its first naming rights partner in the 100-year history of the stadium, First Bank. The University’s agreement with First Bank was not finalized until the beginning of August and opening day was a mere month away. The University Athletic Department contacted Jones Sports to rise to the challenge and they engineered, fabricated, and installed the project on time.
Fresno State University – Valley Children’s Stadium Fresno State engaged Jones Sports to design and fabricate the naming rights package for its first ever stadium sponsor Valley Children’s Health. The Jones Sports team helped the Bulldogs prepare for their nationally televised season opener where they saw their stadium’s new brand shine on prime-time TV.
San Diego State University – Snapdragon Stadium Jones Sports collaborated with Clark Construction, Qualcomm, and lead architect Gensler to capture the new naming rights and signage program for Snapdragon Stadium. The world-class, Snapdragon Stadium, designed to meet the needs of the entire San Diego community. A hub for sports and entertainment, the new 35,000-capacity venue provides a home field for Aztec Football, as well as for professional and collegiate soccer, NCAA championship games, concerts, and other cultural events.
With the implementation of 5G within the stadium, Snapdragon Stadium is intended to be an embodiment of real, impactful examples of a world where everyone and everything is intelligently connected.
Jones Sports was tasked with installing the naming rights on a multi-million-dollar scoreboard, wayfinding, and traffic control sign system. They had 24 workers on the ground 7 days a week from August 1st through project completion. The signs were produced in their Green Bay, Wisconsin and Tijuana manufacturing facilities.
Snapdragon Stadium was completed on time for the season home opener. Famed musicians Jimmy Buffett and Jason Mraz will perform the first concert at the stadium on October 22. More information about Snapdragon Stadium is available online: https://snapdragonstadium.com/
