JLL hires Alison Flynn Gaffney to lead healthcare into the future

JLL announced that it has hired Alison Flynn Gaffney, FACHE as Division President, Healthcare, to lead and evolve JLL’s healthcare business to meet the needs of health systems, hospitals, ambulatory networks and other healthcare providers into the future. She will build upon JLL’s past success to drive growth and position JLL as the leading healthcare real estate and facilities provider.

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Flynn Gaffney most recently served as the interim Chief Operating Officer with the University of Utah Health, Hospitals & Clinics, where she had executive and financial oversight for all inpatient and ambulatory operations across the more than $3 billion integrated healthcare system. Gaffney also spearheaded initiatives to support and enhance patient and stakeholder experience and developed a healthcare system master-planning office, as well as led the hospital and clinics teams in the development of multiple facilities expansions, including co-leading a new, more than 1-million-square-foot healthcare and academic campus. When open in 2027, this endeavor will provide an historically marginalized community new access to healthcare, education and professional opportunities.

“Alison is a recognized and transformative healthcare leader with a wealth of experience that will enable her to develop customized and creative outsourcing solutions for our healthcare and medical office clients,” said Sanjay Rishi, Americas CEO, Work Dynamics, JLL. “We are thrilled to welcome her to JLL, where she will play a crucial role driving growth across all of Work Dynamics.”

In her new role, Flynn Gaffney will focus on building a differentiated strategy to gain client and talent mindshare through inclusive thought leadership, new capabilities and ecosystem partnerships; identify new business and expand existing client portfolios; develop and deliver scalable solutions to improve the customer, patient and team experience for JLL clients; and continue to attract, develop, retain and elevate the best and most diverse talent in the industry.

“The delivery of healthcare services has become increasingly complex over the last few years,” Flynn Gaffney said. “It sparks the need to redefine our business models to meet the demands of today and tomorrow. I am excited to lead our teams of experts at JLL as we partner with our clients to support their missions. Our role is to help them optimize their business so that we can change the world together – one patient, one team and one solution at a time.”

Flynn Gaffney has held senior operational, consulting and strategic executive-level roles within well-known healthcare organizations. As a founding member of Nexera, Inc., a healthcare consulting company specializing in supply chain cost reduction and management services, she oversaw operations, compliance and strategic planning. She also worked for Giuliani Partners, an international management consulting firm, leading their international healthcare practice.

Flynn Gaffney joins JLL on November 28 and will collaborate with Jay Johnson, National Practice Leader, Healthcare Markets, JLL.

“Alison is a trusted industry partner who has dedicated her entire career to the healthcare industry,” Johnson said. “As a former health system executive and COO, she understands the unique needs of healthcare clients and specific sector challenges.”
