Omaha, Neb., has had 750 hotel rooms added or renovated since May and hundreds of additional rooms are on the way, but the city continues to see its supply stretched to accommodate an influx of visitors, many of whom are coming to attend the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders convention. Most of the new hotels are looking to capture demand around new developments in Omaha’s midtown, yet the competition for rooms is still stiff because of the properties’ proximity to the downtown area.
