Henricksen Names Katie Szpyrka Director of Business Development

Henricksen, a leading national contract furniture dealer, is excited to welcome Katie Szpyrka to its Chicago office as Director of Business Development. With over 25 years of experience and a strong background in commercial real estate and growth strategy, Szpyrka will strengthen the firm’s existing relationships across key markets, expand client partnerships, and support strategic initiatives nationwide.

“Along with her extensive experience across all aspects of commercial real estate, Katie brings an exceptional talent for building long-lasting, trusted relationships,” said Ryan Esche, General Manager for Illinois. “Her expertise and industry network, combined with her people-first mentality and detail-oriented approach, make her a perfect fit as we continue to strengthen our broader market impact.”

Szpyrka most recently served as Managing Director at Savills North America, where she led cross-functional teams, negotiated complex leases, and drove portfolio optimization to align real estate strategies with business perspectives. Previously, she was Director of Business Development and Tenant Representation at Cushman & Wakefield, where she directed the Technology, Advertising, Media & Telecommunications practice group and developed expertise across all phases of client transactions, from initial prospecting to lease negotiations.

In her new role, Szpyrka will spearhead business development efforts within the CRE industry network,  leveraging her extensive partnerships and deep industry knowledge of office, retail, and multi-family client needs. She is focused on building strong connections, identifying growth opportunities, and contributing to Henricksen’s ongoing reputation for excellence and client-focused solutions.

“Joining Henricksen feels like the perfect next chapter in my career, “ said Szpyrka. “I’m eager to leverage my experience and long-standing relationships to create new opportunities and further strengthen Henricksen’s presence in the commercial real estate market and contribute to the team’s ongoing success.”

As Szpyrka settles into her new role, she looks forward to connecting with fellow industry professionals and joining organizations that provide valuable resources to further expand her network. Outside of work, she loves to travel, with Dubai and Malta among her favorite destinations.
