Helix Electric is continuing its commitment to community support, serving as a Gold Sponsor for the 44th Annual Family House Gala—an event that raised $1.2 million to support families caring for sick children.
Held March 7 at The Conservatory at One Sansome, the gala also marked a milestone for Family House, celebrating 10 years in Mission Bay and its ongoing mission to provide housing and support services for families traveling to San Francisco for pediatric medical care.
Family House removes a critical barrier for these families by offering 100% free housing—whether for a night, a month or longer—so they can focus on their child’s treatment without the added burden of lodging costs. The funds raised from this year’s event ensure the organization can continue delivering those services at no cost.
“Family House directly aligns with our core value of treating people right and demonstrates our commitment to supporting families during their most challenging times,” says Matt Liefer, Operations Manager at Helix Electric Inc. “We believe in giving back to the communities where we work, and this partnership allows us to make a meaningful impact for families who need support while caring for their sick children.”
Helix Electric, which employs more than 3,000 people nationwide, regularly supports nonprofit organizations through fundraising, volunteering and awareness efforts that reflect its focus on creating rewarding workplaces and strengthening the communities it serves.
The impact of that support is reflected in the results. The $1.2 million raised will allow Family House to remain free for every family with a sick child who walks through its doors.
“This $1.2 million in funding raised ensures that no family will ever pay to stay at Family House while their child receives medical care, and corporate partners like Helix Electric make this promise possible,” says Jason Pengel, Executive VP at Helix Electric Inc. “Having businesses that recognize the financial strain families face during medical crises allows us to focus entirely on providing comfort and support when it matters most.”
The evening featured a cocktail reception, dinner and live auction, bringing together board members, donors, volunteers and community partners in support of Family House’s mission.
