FK Architecture Three Affordable Housing Projects

FK Architecture, a Fugleberg Koch Company, is excited to announce the groundbreaking of three affordable housing projects in Naples, Florida, designed by the firm. The groundbreaking occurred on Thursday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at 4656 Santa Barbara Blvd in Naples, FL 34104. The three sites for which FK Architecture provided planning and professional services are Harmony on Santa Barbara, Allegro at Hacienda Lakes, and Cadenza at Hacienda Lakes.
"Affordable housing is a critical need throughout the United States," said Ted Hunton, AIA, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. "Housing costs have exploded over the past few years. We are proud to be a part of the team that will provide modern, safe, affordable, and clean housing to those in need. We fully expect these projects to establish long-lasting communities in the years to come."

Harmony on Santa Barbara is a workforce affordable family housing project that will feature an 82-unit apartment complex sitting on five acres of land. The community will serve residents earning between 30% and 80% of the county's area median income. Harmony will provide a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments featuring a clubhouse with outdoor living and amenities including a media center, fitness center, playground, grilling area, and pool.
Allegro and Cadenza at Hacienda Lakes are adjacent senior living affordable housing developments that each consist of a 160-unit apartment building with porte-cochere entries designed to serve seniors ages 62 and up. They will provide one, two, and three-bedroom apartments featuring a shared clubhouse with outdoor covered living, fitness center, social gathering spaces, movie room, pool, and putting green.

"Our goal when designing these complexes focused on creating spaces that have a sense of place that invokes a home-like environment," said Gary Badge, CCBM, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. "If people feel safe and secure, then a more welcoming, supportive community forms. These kinds of communities are crucial in ensuring Americans have a safe and affordable place to live."
