Award-winning architectural firm Felder & Associates, renowned for its expertise in historic preservation, religious facilities, and high-end residential and commercial design, welcomes a transformative addition to its team: Senior Project Architect Bob Poticny.
Poticny, a founding partner at Greenline Architects, brings over three decades of experience in the Savannah market to Felder & Associates. He will play a pivotal role in designing major projects while sharing his extensive knowledge and wisdom with the firm’s younger associates.
“I’ve known Bob for almost 30 years, and he understands this business in this market like few people I’ve met,” said Brian Felder, Founder and Principal Architect at Felder & Associates. “His willingness to mentor our younger talent aligns perfectly with our vision for the future, and I’m confident his expertise will significantly impact the firm’s direction in a positive way.”Poticny’s Savannah architectural journey began at The Spriggs Group, followed by a successful stint at Hansen Architects, where he first collaborated with Brian Felder. Together, they co-founded Poticny Deering Felder. They co-formed Greenline Architecture in 2007, merging with Bazemore Mastrianni Wilson Architects. Felder left Greenline in 2012 to form Brian Felder and Associates, LLC.
A 1984 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Bob has amassed expertise in several sectors, including the design of more than 70 retail stores for Parker’s and Enmarket. Notably, Poticny led the meticulous restoration of three historically significant buildings and their surrounding grounds at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Ga. Situated at the crescent-shaped entryway to the campus, the buildings were meticulously restored in phases to their original beauty and grandeur after being abandoned for decades.
“The young talent at Felder & Associates is truly energetic,” says Poticny. “I’m eager to share my experience and collaborate with them, fostering a dynamic exchange of knowledge that will take the firm to even greater heights.”
A true Savannah native residing on Wilmington Island, Poticny actively contributes to the community. He dedicated eight years as a Boy Scout pack leader and served for 12 years on his homeowner’s association board. Beyond architecture, Poticny enjoys restoring classic cars, including die-cast Hot Wheels and full-size Ford Mustangs. He has been a dedicated member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for over 32 years.
