EarthCam recently released a time-lapse movie for the Sacramento Kings’ new Golden 1 Center arena. From August 2014 to October 2016, our construction cameras were onsite to document each stage of the project as it transformed downtown Sacramento, and fans were invited to be a part of the process with webcam views made available online via a public web page.
“EarthCam has put us in position to give fans an all-access look at Golden 1 Center, from site demolition to arena ribbon cutting,” said Andrew Nicholson, senior director of digital & integrated communications for the Sacramento Kings. “As we usher in a new era of Kings basketball and world-class events in Sacramento, we’re thrilled to share a comprehensive time-lapse of the historic project.”
The Kings relied on a unique combination of live streaming video and time-lapse webcams, including our billion pixel panorama system, the GigapixelCam. The entire 26-month project can be seen from start to finish from multiple perspectives with our time-lapse movie.
