The addition of more than 600 rooms hasn't crimped hotel occupancy in downtown Milwaukee, though adjoining Brookfield, the next largest submarket, has suffered, according to STR. Downtown demand rose 6.8% in the first half of 2018 while occupancy reached 65%, outpacing the 2015 level even with four new hotels, the analytics firm reported.
