District Center – Project of the Year

The special award presentation and opening ceremony for District Center, one of D.C.’s most iconic and innovative commercial building properties.
Hosted by Acuity Brands’ Distech Controls, an innovation leader connecting people with intelligent building solutions, and Smart Building Technologies, LLC (SmartBT) the opening ceremony was held on Friday, June 28th from 11 am – 1 pm.
District Center encompasses an entire city block in the heart of historic downtown D.C. At this event we will present the JLL Smart Building team and building owner MetLife Investment Management with the “Unified Project of the Year” award for transforming the 20-year-old property into a connected building that elevates the tenant and occupant experience.
District Center features modern updates that best leverage connected lighting technology and intelligent building solutions – it goes beyond energy efficiency. There will be tours of the common areas of the building to showcase its capabilities and the possibilities of connected buildings. The implementation and development teams from JLL, MetLife, Acuity Brands, Distech Controls and the extended companies who came together to make this new District Center a reality will be available for interviews as well.
