Dig is shifting its fast-casual chain growth mode into the suburbs. The chain opened its first freestanding restaurant in Stamford, Connecticut, to complement openings in an outdoor mall in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Washington, DC’s Georgetown area. Those three are among six to open this year, and another six to eight scheduled for next year, including locations in Bethesda, Maryland, as well as Virginia, and later Massachusetts, more in New York and North Carolina.
