Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has added an 11th brand by activating its relationship with Design Hotels AG, in which it has been a majority but passive investor since 2011. Design Hotels, based in Berlin, is a global affiliation for roughly 300 independent hotels and resorts. Some of its member hotels can be booked through Starwood platforms, and guests at Design Hotels who use Starwood channels to book their stays will earn Starpoints and get SPG benefits.
