Construction sector added 45,000 jobs in Dec.

Nonfarm payrolls were up 292,000 in December, according to today's data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The construction sector added 45,000 jobs, and the unemployment rate stayed steady at 5%. The labor participation rate moved from 62.5% to 62.6%. October and November numbers were revised up for a total of 50,000 additional jobs. Read the Reuters story here
