CNY Group Robert Benziger Now Project Executive

New York City-based construction and development services firm CNY Group has just announced the promotion of Robert Benziger to Project Executive. The promotion exemplifies CNY Group’s commitment to empowering its talent and focus on providing best-in-business expertise for its diverse portfolio of clients across the Tri-state area.

“Bob brings an unmatched depth of industry knowledge and expert understanding of the business of construction to each of his projects at CNY Group,” says Ken Colao, President & CEO at CNY Group. “As we continue to deliver a solutions-based approach and enhance our client relationships, Bob’s involvement will help further foster an environment of improved performance across our organization. “

With over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, Mr. Benziger’s expertise in hospitality has been paramount to CNY Group’s continued success. Having joined CNY Group in 2010, Mr. Benziger has been an integral team member throughout the construction of numerous award-winning hospitality projects across New York City, including the Times Square EDITION hotel and the dual Marriott hotels at 1717 Broadway. Mr. Benziger has already proven himself as an effective team leader, and with his expanded capacities as Project Executive, he will now oversee and coordinate CNY Group’s ongoing construction efforts on other noteworthy projects, including a forthcoming, five-star luxury hotel project located along Fifth Avenue.

CNY Group has been a construction industry leader, and I have had the pleasure of being a part of this important work for the past 12 years,” said Mr. Benziger. “I hope this new position will allow me to continue pushing the boundaries of what can be accomplished and what the evolving standards for excellence can be. I have seen how the business of construction has changed over the course of my career, and I am excited to be a member of the leadership team at CNY.

As Project Executive, Mr. Benziger will coordinate each step of a project’s lifecycle, working alongside developers, architects, and designers to ensure the successful execution of every stage from preconstruction to closeout. He will be responsible for maintaining CNY Group’s highest professional standards in providing accessible and quality services, including specialty supervision, project management, design-assist, technical engineering, and global sourcing in an open-shop contracting method. Further, he will lead efforts in building long-term relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders and assisting in business development efforts, such as participating in the proposal and bidding process. Mr. Benziger will also be charged with cultivating the next generation of talent, providing overall direction, mentorship, and training opportunities for his team members to strengthen capabilities at all levels of the business––both directly and through his role on CNY Group’s Operations Council, which serves as a knowledge-sharing exchange platform for the firm’s senior-level executives.
