Pastry chef Mindy Segal, owner of HotChocolate Restaurant and Dessert Bar, has mastered the art of plated desserts and is turning her talents into a new bakery to open in Chicago this fall. The bakery will feature traditional American goods such as Danishes, sandwich cookies and five-inch pies with influences from Segal’s ancestry from Italy, France and Eastern Europe, as well as non-dessert items that will nonetheless.
