BRIGHTSMITH, LLC, Announces New Leadership

BRIGHTSMITH, LLC, who is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, announced that Tim Day has joined the company as their new Vice President and General Manager. Tim joins Tiffany Hutcheson, Assistant General Manager, in leading the coil coating operations of BRIGHTSMITH, as well as the post-painting operations in Trenton, NJ.
Prior to joining BRIGHTSMITH, Day spent the last eight years in a variety of positions with Canam Group (Canam Steel Corporation) out of South Plainfield, NJ, most recently serving as their Senior Vice President of Operations. After college, Day worked at Bouras Industries, a manufacturer of siding, roofing, steel joists, decking, and coil coating, and he ran the company for seven years. He also managed the steel joist and deck operations for Commercial Metals Company for three years, before going to work for Canam. Day has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Penn State University, and is married with two children in college. He enjoys golfing, hunting, and fishing in his leisure time.
When asked about why he came to work for BRIGHTSMITH, Day stated, “BRIGHTSMITH and the Bus family have a strong reputation for quality and service. I want to be part of that culture and help grow the BRIGHTSMITH business. Building on the foundation of offering quality, flexibility, and value to our customers, we want to grow our customer base and continue the process of making BRIGHTSMITH a world class coil coating and post-painting company.”
The post-painting facility of BRIGHTSMITH Coaters is led by Plant Manager, Keith Schultz. Tony Bus, Product and Process Manager, assists in the daily operations and continuous improvements to the post-painting process. Day will help with overseeing this facility in Trenton, NJ, and exploring ways to grow their offering of painting services to a wide variety of customers.
Jim Bus, President of BRIGHTSMITH, LLC, said “We have known Tim for a number of years, and with his management experience, we thought that he would be a great addition to our leadership team as our business continues to expand. Tim has a lot of firsthand experience in what we have to offer our customers, and that will be valuable in identifying ways that we can improve and grow in the future.”
BRIGHTSMITH Coaters operates a coil coating facility in Morrisville, PA, and a post-painting facility in Trenton, NJ.
The BRIGHTSMITH staff has over 400 combined years of coil coating experience, specializing in two and three color print systems, embossed plastisol, laminating, slitting, and premium multi-coat paint systems. Various metal substrates with gauges that range from .008 to .10 and widths from 24” to 61” can be run on the equipment. Wet chemistry pre-treatment is offered as well as single coat dried in place. Various decorative laminates offer an alternative coating option over paint finishes. Rail service is available at BRIGHTSMITH Coaters in Morrisville, PA, and that coil coating facility is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
BRIGHTSMITH Coaters’ post-painting facility in Trenton, NJ offers the service of painting individual components or items that are already manufactured, which can be especially helpful when trying to match colors, and with painting of custom colors and/or small quantities.
