Brett Flint, PE, has joined planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN). Based in the Corpus Christi office, Flint will serve as senior project manager for the municipal group. With a broad experience of more than 30 years in design construction, management, environmental assessment, remediation and quality management roles, Flint will oversee construction and maintenance projects of port and coastal structures.

With a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Utah and as a registered professional engineer in Texas, Flint’s previous roles include chief of program management, planning and design at the Port of Corpus Christi and senior program manager for Del Mar Community College Bond Project. Notably, he also managed substantial projects such as the design and construction of the new Del Mar College Oso Creek Campus and the planning and design of critical coastal protection systems following Hurricane Harvey.

Flint’s expertise in Section 404 and 10 US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) permitting, as well as his extensive work with embankments, channels, dams and heavy civil construction projects underscore his capability to tackle complex engineering challenges. His strategic oversight at the Port of Corpus Christi includes managing a $150 million ten-year capital project plan and ensuring technical support for USACE permitting and environmental compliance.

In addition to his technical skills, Flint shares his knowledge by teaching construction and engineering courses at Del Mar Community College.
