Boston Based Artaic Mosaic acquiresTerraferma USA

Artaic-Innovative Mosaic, designers and fabricators of custom, award-winning mosaic tile-work produced by its proprietary robots, has broadened its capabilities… again.
According to Dr. Ted Acworth, CEO Founder of Artaic, “We are pleased to announce that Artaic has acquired all assets of Terraferma USA, a firm specializing in large mosaic projects fashioned with high quality glazed porcelain and vitreous glass, and managed by seasoned tile industry professionals.”
Terraferma will maintain a separate identity under the Artaic company brand; President Emilio Garello becomes President of Terraferma by Artaic, while Terraferma’s founder, Gianni Meneghini, will assist Artaic as a strategic advisor.
By adding “Terraferma by Artaic,” Acworth’s firm is now able to offer a foundational running line – ideal for projects that demand sizable volumes of high-quality tile at competitive pricing. These new materials can be specified as “field tile” to be positioned alongside Artaic custom mosaic works throughout an entire construction project. Or, in conjunction with Artaic’s existing, comprehensive collection of stunning designs. “For years Artaic has been known for the beautiful centerpiece murals in a commercial or residential design, such as hotel lobbies”, says Acworth, “and now we can efficiently handle 500 hotel bathrooms as well.”
The addition of Terraferma also opens up the dealer/distributor channel to Artaic, and gets its custom mosaic solution work and design collections even more solidly entrenched into that arena.
“Terraferma delivers Artaic deep roots in the international mosaic tile market via its industry veterans,” Acworth continued. “Emilio and Gianni were looking to partner with an innovative mosaic provider. Specifically, one which could take their company to the next level in terms of design style and support and help them more aggressively expand a growing dealer network. Together we will advance a shared commitment to exceptional quality, service and value. So, whether it’s fresh design collections, stunning custom work or unique running patterns at high volume, Terraferma by Artaic will deliver.
“We’ve hired all Terraferma’s staff members and will continue to operate the warehouse and production facility in Miami,” Acworth shared. “Our ultimate goal is frankly, to become the primary source synonymous with the word ‘mosaics.’ This acquisition brings Artaic closer to that objective, as we now offer virtually any solution relative to requests for the highest quality mosaic tile projects.”
