A $6 billion, 20-year-long expansion and renovation project will get underway later this year at Georgia’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Work will start with concourse renovation, later moving to the addition of a new runway and hotel. A focal point will be two enormous, translucent canopies that will span roadways and sidewalks, connecting terminals and parking points, to protect travelers from the elements.
