Asta Development, maker of the leading construction project scheduling software Asta Powerproject, is further expanding its North American network of resellers and distributors with the addition of Critical Business Analysis, Inc. (CBA) to its roster.
The Perrysburg, Ohio-based CBA joins nearly a dozen other U.S. and Canadian construction project management sales and services firms to offer Asta Powerproject to its clients.
CBA will represent Asta Development in Ohio, Michigan, and West Virginia.
“We see a need in the marketplace for Asta Powerproject’s ease of use and compatibility compared to Primavera P6,” said Patrick Serafino, VP of Operations at CBA. “A lot of our clients are still required by spec to use Primavera for large jobs but we’re suggesting that Asta Powerproject is a much better fit for their other projects.”
The unique distributor arrangement between Asta Development and its distributors in North America is a deliberate strategy says Michael McCullen, Asta’s company’s executive chairman.
“There is an incredible wealth of market knowledge among our distributors, both in terms of who the key industry players are but also how construction-related firms in their territories are using project scheduling tools now,” he says. “Our partners’ insights and connections allow us to show how Asta Powerproject can help them improve their processes and profitability.”
Asta Development, which has been headquarted in the UK since it’s founding in 1988, has more than 80,000 Asta Powerproject users in that country, Europe, Australasia, and the Arabian Peninsula. The company began selling Asta Powerproject in the US in 2013.
It has made quick in-roads into the U.S. market thanks to the professionalism of its distributor channel as well as pent-up demand for a viable construction project scheduling alternative. Additionally, many firms are finding they can save substantial money with a concurrent licensing model that allows companies with part-time and occasional schedulers to share a single license.
CBA, which celebrates its 30^th anniversary this year, predicts Asta Powerproject will be a hit among their customers. “We see it as a pillar of our business for the next 30 years,” said Serafino.
