AGC’s 2014 forecast: More projects to bid on, spending to rise by 10%

Total construction spending is expected to rise by 10 percent this year despite a slight decline in public construction, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. More projects are expected to open up for bidding than the industry has seen since 2009, with construction spending in the power and manufacturing sectors expected to increase by double digits, although material costs should remain tame.
