The cost to travelers for flights and accommodations are likely to rise in 2015 as tight hotel supply, airline consolidations and an uptick in demand from business travelers worldwide push prices higher, according to American Express Global Business Travel. Hotel rates in North America are projected to rise 3 percent to 6 percent in midrange hotels and 3.5 percent to 7 percent in upper-range hotels. Room prices in Latin America are expected to show stronger increases amid growing demand from U.S. businesses, with rate growth of 5 percent to 8 percent expected in mid-range hotels and 5 percent to 7 percent in upper-range hotels.
