Chicago is on the verge of soliciting proposals for its first casino resort, and four gaming companies are among 11 firms that have responded to an early request for information and suggestions. The complex, including hotel as well as dining and entertainment offerings, would carry a 40% effective gaming tax burden in exchange for its monopoly over a market that drew almost 60 million visitors in 2019.
