Sharp HealthCare will add a seven-story, $239 million medical tower to Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center in southern San Diego County, the company announced Monday. The California county is in the midst of a hospital building boom driven in part by a growing population of older residents as well as state-mandated upgrades for seismic safety. Scripps Health has also indicated it plans redevelopment at its nearby Scripps Mercy Hospital but has not yet made the details public. Read The San Diego Union-Tribune story here
