Las Vegas’ first Native American casino firm on horizon

Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment has won preliminary approval from state regulators to become the first Native American casino operator in the Las Vegas area. The Nevada Gaming Commission will meet soon to decide on the company’s application to run the Virgin Hotels Las Vegas when it opens at the former site of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, expected in January.
