At the center of the design is an eye-catching metal structure fabricated from lightweight aluminum sheets made by Oakland-based metal experts, Móz Designs.
The design team knew from day one that they wanted to create “big monumental moments” throughout the Newmark Knight Frank downtown office, and the idea to build a large-scale, attention-grabbing metal box in the reception area was born. Originally, the design team planned to use blackened steel for the box, however the material’s weight and cost was a major issue.
That’s where Móz came in. Móz aluminum metal sheets in Classic Ebony with a Fog Polycoat Matte finish proved to be the perfect solution for the project. Lightweight and easy to work with, Móz metal sheets can be specified with a large variety of grains and colors to fit any application or aesthetic.
